The Saturday following Claudio’s birthday, we celebrated with 6 of his closest friends, sister, and parents in Urdorf. The weather was warm and sunny, just perfect for an outside barbecue. Claudio’s mom had decorated the entire garden/backyard area with flowers made of colored tissue paper. It was really quite a sight! She also made a “life tree”, where she placed pictures from when Claudio was a baby to present day. For each new stage of his life, she used a different colored ribbon to attach the photo. It was really one of the most thoughtful and creative of ideas!
One of my favorites, baby Claudio and his mama
This was when Claudio arrived and had the first look at the tree. He was quite impressed!
One member of the party committee happened to be in a particularly good mood. 🙂 He was so happy to wear a party hat and be surrounded by balloons.

Alex had a ball with Aunt Martina. He thought it was hilarious when she blew up a balloon and let it go. He had her repeat this at least dozen times!
His facial expressions truly show every emotion he’s feeling. Haha!

The evening ended with a big volcano firework. It was a super day! Many many thanks go out to Claudio’s parents who offered their backyard to host the party and supplied all of the food, to Martina for helping with the food preparation, and of course a special thanks to all that could come be part of the celebration.
