July

July was a fun & busy month for us. We went to several beautiful places, such as the Park im Grünen in Ruschlikon and Badi Mythenquai. The Park im Grünen is one of my favorite parks as there’s so much to do, especially for little ones on the go. From traditional Swiss puppet shows to donkey & train rides, bathing areas for kids, and a big cafeteria style restaurant, there truly seems to be something for everyone. The park is situated just above the Lake of Zürich and the name means “Green Meadows,” which is very appropriate for this huge plot of land with much greenery.

Here’s Alex riding a donkey for the first time. He was nervous, but ended up being just fine!

We celebrated Claudio’s father’s birthday the day before his actual birthday, so we could celebrate before we left for Interlaken. Alex was thrilled to have cake and help blow out the candles.

Claudio & I went to Interlaken for an adventure weekend with his friends on July 20, while Alex stayed with Grandma & Grandpa. We had a great time horseback riding, exploring the touristic city, having dinner on a boat cruise, and attending a big birthday celebration.

The week we returned, we spent an afternoon at Badi Mythenquai, known as the “Pearl of Lake Zürich”. It’s located on a big plot of green land and has a sandy beach which dips straight into the lake. There’s a buffet-style restaurant, swings for the kids in the shade, and a shallow pool with water games.

Sharing pistachios. Who would have guessed they’d like those so much!?
