Valentine’s Day

Our Valentine’s day began with Alex asking if he could eat candy hearts for breakfast. You can imagine what type of answer I gave in response. He then asked in 5 minute intervals for the next hour.

In the afternoon, I prepared two desserts. First, animal crackers dipped in white chocolate and candy sprinkles for my little valentine. And for my big valentine, chocolate strawberries. I definitely have a lot of respect for anyone who does this for a living as it’s really hard to make them look even half-way presentable.

For dinner I made creamy tagliatelle with spring onions and green peas. Claudio brought home beautiful long-stemmed roses.

After finishing up the meal, we took turns opening cards. Many thanks to my mom and Aunt Kathy, Joan, Terri & Maria for sending valentines. That was very sweet! My little valentine loved his present from mommy and daddy – a red slap-on armband and a little teddy bear from Terri & Maria. It never ceases to amaze me how very simple things can bring such joy to a toddler.

Hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day!

Alex looks so cute with the little bear from Terri and Maria! Yes, it is nice to see how something so small can bring so much joy! Nice of them to think of your little cutie pie! Alex is a doll!
Looks like you made a nice meal, and beautiful desserts, too! The flowers are lovely, also!
    Love and miss you all!
