Our newest adventure in the grocery store includes child-size shopping carts. Alex simply ADORES them! Since he’s much more mobile now, he prefers pushing a cart around instead of being stuck in the big cart – which is understandable of course.
As you can probably imagine, these little carts are both a blessing and a curse. They tend to make the whole shopping trip a blur (as seen in the picture). He firmly believes he’s Mr. Independent and has full reign over the entire store. Alex fills up the cart with his favorite items and speeds down the aisles before I have the chance to catch up. Then, when he sees me coming behind him, it suddenly becomes a wild game of chase – he makes a goofy face and speeds up even faster. My biggest worry is that he’ll end up knocking over an entire shelf, but luckily that hasn’t happened yet. Here’s a funny clip from our latest adventure: Professional Shopper
Although he is quite a crazy man in the store, Alex also loves being my big helper. When I have to weigh produce, he loves to push the number for the sticker, as well as hold the bag open for me to place an item. At the end of our shopping trip, he helps put items on the conveyer belt. As long as he stays busy, he seems to do pretty well, unless he’s in the mood to take over the store with his personal shopping cart.
I guess we will have to wait and see what the next grocery store adventure has in store for us!
