Grocery Store Adventures (Part 2)

*If you haven’t read Part 1, click here first.

Our newest adventure in the grocery store includes child-size shopping carts. Alex simply ADORES them! Since he’s much more mobile now, he prefers pushing a cart around instead of being stuck in the big cart – which is understandable of course.

As you can probably imagine, these little carts are both a blessing and a curse. They tend to make the whole shopping trip a blur (as seen in the picture). He firmly believes he’s Mr. Independent and has full reign over the entire store. Alex fills up the cart with his favorite items and speeds down the aisles before I have the chance to catch up. Then, when he sees me coming behind him, it suddenly becomes a wild game of chase – he makes a goofy face and speeds up even faster. My biggest worry is that he’ll end up knocking over an entire shelf, but luckily that hasn’t happened yet. Here’s a funny clip from our latest adventure: Professional Shopper

Although he is quite a crazy man in the store, Alex also loves being my big helper. When I have to weigh produce, he loves to push the number for the sticker, as well as hold the bag open for me to place an item. At the end of our shopping trip, he helps put items on the conveyer belt. As long as he stays busy, he seems to do pretty well, unless he’s in the mood to take over the store with his personal shopping cart.

I guess we will have to wait and see what the next grocery store adventure has in store for us!

Alex must have been moving fast through the store, if the picture at the top was such a blur!! This appears to be a very fun adventure for Mr. Alex!! I watched the u-tube of him loading up his little cart! Boy, was he fast at doing that, also! He certainly was serious about filling up that cart as fast as he could!! Plus, he was great about picking up anything that did not make it into the cart, the first time!! Was he pretty understanding when it came to putting all of those items back??
Thanks for taking the time to share this adventure with all of us! I am certain that every trip to the grocery store is always a new experience! He must get so excited when you tell him that you are taking him grocery shopping!
    Love you three!

  2. Hi there,
This post inspired me to put Alana exactly the same position as Alex – a driver. i let her drive the cart at coop, guess what? i totally lost… she tried to put everything, from tomatoes, oranges, salad…. the worst was yogurts, and she didn’t put it in nicely but throw them in like they are a ballon. A result??? put her back in a big cart, and put back a small one in place… hahaha.. she’s the gunner, and i was totally the looser!!

    1. Alex is so cute in the video. My kids and I were dying of laughter when we saw him head back to the shelf to grab a few more supplies. Alex is smart…you never can have enough diapers and wipes. I guess he had big plans. lol

I’m glad you all got a good laugh from the video! Alex was definitely a “man on a mission” during that shopping trip! haha
