8 months old!

Alex recently had his 8 month check-up at the doctor’s. He weighed in at 21 lbs and is 29 inches long! The doctor said he’s quite a “big boy”! He is doing great and getting more mobile each day. Alex seems to be in the beginning stages of learning how to crawl and can make his way from one side of the room to the other in a matter of seconds by using a combination of rolling, crawling and scooting techniques. He really never stops moving! Alex is also doing really well at sitting up on his own. He still needs a little support, but he really tries his best to be independent. 🙂 No teeth have come through his gums yet but we have a feeling that it may be very soon! He seems to be wanting to chew on everything a little more than usual, which we didn’t even know was possible! ha! Alex especially loves to chew on bread and his teething rings! Recently his favorite things seem to be the tv remotes and spoons. Alex always seems to have one of these in his mouth at all times and once he grabs hold of them, there is no telling when he will let them go! He also loves to drink straight from a regular cup and pour half the contents onto the front of himself. 🙂 Whenever Claudio or I are eating or drinking something that Alex wants, he will literally grab it from our hands and put it in his mouth. He always makes sure that when we have a treat, especially ice cream, that he gets some too!

Most days I take Alex for a little walk to an animal park that is about 10 minutes from our apartment. They have a bunch of different animals; donkeys, horses, goats, birds, ducks, and chickens. Also, there is a playground with swings that are just the right size for Alex. He loves to swing and enjoys watching the other kids play.

We went to the pool with him for the first time 2 weeks ago, and although he was skeptical at first of the cool water and loud kids around us, he really enjoyed it! We have only gone twice this summer and look forward to going again with him soon. The weather has gotten really warm here these past few weeks, so it’s the perfect time to take a dip in the pool. 🙂

Words cannot express how cute Alex is! It is so much fun when they are crawling, yet it really can be challenging to keep up with the little cuties. Hoping some of his teeth pop through soon, to alleviate some of the uncomfortableness for him. It seems like they teethe forever before something pops through. Olivia has been teething for a month, so far, and there is like a pool of drool everywhere we go. Thank you for sharing these terrific pictures.

  2. Aw thank you! I really can’t wait for his teeth to pop through since it seems like he is suffering so much pain from it right now. Poor little guy! I read that once the teeth pop through, the pain only lasts another few days or so. I hope that is the case! It’s crazy how long babies teeth before teeth actually come in.

Thanks for sharing all of the details of Alex’s growth, activities, and his everyday life!! So exciting!! Even though we cannot see these things, in person, it means a lot for you to take the time to update us with so many details!! The pictures are fabulous, also! I always have people at work, the neighbors, and family asking about Alex, whenever I see them, or talk to them. I like knowing what he is up to!! It does mean so much…thank you, Sweetie!!
Love and miss you guys, more than words can say!!
    Love always, Mom
